Privacy notice
This notice explains what we collect through octane-99.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
This website is run by Octane 99 Ltd (company number 16371496, registered in England and Wales), trading as Octane 99, with studios in London and Cape Town. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the controller of the personal data described here. Registered address: Parklands Business Park, Larch House, Denmead, PO7 6XP, United Kingdom.
Questions about this notice or your data go to louis@octane-99.com.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry
The enquiry form asks for your name, email address and what you need built. You can also tell us your company, a budget range and a timeline. We use this to read your enquiry and reply to it, and, if we go on to work together, as the start of that conversation.
Our lawful basis is your request: we process these details to take the steps you’ve asked for before any contract, and in our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us. We don’t add you to a mailing list and we don’t sell or share your details for marketing.
When you visit the site
We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Like any website, our hosting provider records basic technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
If you switch the site to “after hours” mode, your browser remembers that choice on your device. It isn’t sent to us, and clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
Who handles it for us
We use two service providers, who process data only on our instructions:
- Vercel hosts the website and keeps short-lived request logs.
- Resend delivers enquiry form submissions to our inbox by email.
Both are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where that happens, it is protected by the safeguards UK law requires for international transfers, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent contractual terms.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows. If no work follows, we delete your enquiry 12 months after we last heard from you. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our using it. Email louis@octane-99.com and we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Changes
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
